At an event in Singapore, Oppo today unveiled the successor to the N1 — the Oppo N3. Like its predecessor, the highlight of the N3 is the 206-degree rotating camera module on its top. This time around though, the camera comes with its own motor allowing it to rotate on its own.
While the camera resolution remains the same as N1, Oppo has bumped other specs to considerably improve performance. The 13MP module has a sensor size of 1/2.3-inch with a pixel size of 1.34um. The F/2.2 lens has been certified by Schneider Kreuznach and promises to offer impressive low-light performance. Some of the camera features included under Oppo’s Ultra Image 2.0 is the ability to shoot RAW images, an ultra-slow shutter mode, 4K video recording, slow-mo video and more.
Other specs of the N3 are relatively dated and include a Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5GHz, an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage space and a 5.5-inch 1080p display and capacitive navigation keys. The only other notable feature in its spec sheet is the presence of a fingerprint scanner on its back. The Skyline notification bar, which first made its appearance on the Find 7, is also present on the N3.
Like the Find 7, the N3 comes with a 3000mAh battery with support for the company’s VOOC rapid charging technology. Using the bundled VOOC charger, you will be able to charge the N3 to 75% from 0% in only 30 minutes. The VOOC charger is different from the one included in Find 7 and is slightly more portable with its decreased height.
The N3 will also come with an updated version of Oppo’s O-Click accessory that was released with the N1.
The Oppo N3 will be available in more than 20 markets from around the world by the end of this year and will retail for $649 off-contract and unlocked.
