The Vivo Nex, which was announced recently, envisions a world where a pop-out selfie camera is the norm.

Not to be outdone, Oppo, another smartphone manufacturer that wants to minimize bezels without adopting a notch, has taken things a step further. It does feature a pop-out front-facing camera, but it also supports that same pop-out design for the pair of rear cameras, too. That’s right, the Oppo Find X boasts a mechanized pop-out function, which the company states only takes 0.5 seconds to call up.

When the phone is off or the camera app isn’t open, all of the cameras are completely hidden. However, activate the camera app or need to unlock your phone and the piece will pop up, showing the 25-megapixel front-facing camera. On the back, there is a 20-megapixel shooter and a 16-megapixel camera, along with the standard flash functionality.

The speed of the pop-up functionality is important, because the Oppo Find X doesn’t support a fingerprint sensor at all. It relies on a 3D facial scanning feature to authenticate the owner and unlock the handset.

Meanwhile, the handset is a high-end powerhouse, with a 6.4-inch 1080p HD OLED display with remarkably minimized bezels (Oppo says it has a 92.25% screen-to-body ratio), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of built-in storage. It has a 3750mAh battery, it’s running Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, and boasts Oppo’s custom Color OS.

What’s more, Oppo says this will be the first handset it launches in North America and Europe, with pricing and launch dates to be revealed at a later date.

So, what do you think of the Oppo Find X’s unique design?
