When Steve Kondik announced the world about Cyanogen Inc., he also mentioned that they will be working with a hardware partner for an Android device running CyanogenMod right out of the device. Today, Steve himself has dropped a major hint as to who that hardware partner is going to be.
The company is none other than Oppo, a relatively unknown hardware vendor outside China. However, Oppo is known and has been appreciated for releasing Find 5 earlier this year, that packed high-end hardware in mid-range prices, along with its strong custom ROM/community backing.
The revelation comes from the just released trailer from Oppo for its upcoming handset – the N1. The trailer only shows Steve Kondik, wearing Google Glass, saying that he is looking forward to attending Oppo’s event in Beijing next week.

Oppo will be unveiling the N1 at an event in Beijing on September 23rd. Rumors have suggested that the Oppo will pack seriously impressive specs with an equally impressive camera. Oppo does not have much presence outside China and select Asian markets, so teaming up with Cyanogen Inc. should definitely boost the company’s presence in other major markets.
