Bezels are a neccessary evil. Everyone hates them, but they are present due to certain laws of physics. While LG and Motorola have done a great job of reducing the bezel space around the display of their recent flagships, they are still nowhere close to completely eliminating them.
Smaller bezels will allow OEMs to fit a bigger screen inside the same space, which will ultimately benefit consumers.
Now, if certain leaked images and a video are to be believed, Oppo is looking to completely eliminate bezels with its upcoming smartphone. The leaked images show the handset as having an edge-to-edge display with non-existent bezel on the left and right edges.
The bezels on the bottom and top are still present though, but they are a necessity as they house certain important components like front-facing camera, proximity sensor, earpiece, and also help in gripping the device easily.
Below is a video that shows the bezel-less handset in action:
It is unclear when Oppo will announce this phone, but looking at the images and video above, it is likely that the announcement of this bezel-less handset is imminent.
