Oppo today outed its latest budget handset: the Oppo A37. The handset sports a 5-inch 720p IPS LCD that is protected by a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 4. The metal unibody of the handset makes it look an awful like an iPhone, though Oppo phones have a tendency of looking similar to the iPhone.
Inside the A37 is Qualcomm’s old and trusty Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The phone also houses a microSD card slot and two nanoSIM card slots for dual-SIM connectivity.
Oppo highlights the A37’s camera prowess. The 8MP shooter on the rear is paired with an f/2.2 lens and an LED flash, while the front houses a 5MP f/2.4 shooter with large 1.4um pixels. This should help the A37 in taking detailed selfies in low-light that should give it an edge over its competitors.
The 7.7mm thin handset packs a 2630mAh battery that is on the lower side, but with a 5-inch display, it should be enough to make the A37 last a day of moderate usage. On the software front, the Oppo A37 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oppo’s own ColorOS 3.0 on top of it.
The Oppo A37 is already on sale in Singapore, and it will be making its debut in Indonesia on June 25 with a wider rollout scheduled in the weeks that follow. The estimated price of the handset is going to be around $199.
