While the biggest wireless carriers in the United States are eating up most of the attention when it comes to 5G’s rollout, they aren’t the only ones planning on offering up the faster network connections next year.
We already know that OnePlus is going to launch a 5G-capable phone next year, and now a few more details have arrived. The smartphone company’s CEO, Pete Lau, recently confirmed that the company’s planning on launching a 5G smartphone in Europe as well. That handset will be coupled with EE’s 5G network when it arrives.
According to Lau, OnePlus will be the first company to launch a 5G phone in Europe, which is certainly a milestone in its own right. We know the upcoming device is going to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor under the hood, too.
That’s about all we have at this point. So if you’re in Europe and you’re hoping to get your hands on a 5G smartphone right out of the gate, it sounds like you’ll need to be signed up with EE and be a fan of OnePlus.
