In May, CyanogenMod reverted the latest touchscreen firmware for the company’s flagship, the One, due to excessive battery drain.

Now, in a forums posting on the company’s website, staff member Helen has posted an update on what’s happening with the software options for the OnePlus, including status updates on the state of CM12.1, as well as where OxygenOS currently stands. (www.algerie360.com)

For CM121, which was updated to 5.1, the testing phase is well underway at this point. Helen pointed out that a preview build is undergoing factory testing right now, as well as Google certification. Helen says the build is on the way, and that One owners will have it “soon.” Unfortunately, no specific launch window or timing was provided in the forums post.

As far as OxygenOS goes, it would appear that the OnePlus software team is hard at work on preparing the platform for the upcoming release of the OnePlus 2, the company’s flagship set to launch sometime later this year. Helen says that, due to the small size of the team, there will not be an OTA of the community build of OxygenOS, which originally launched back in April, until after the launch of the OnePlus 2. A fix for the touchscreen issue is still coming, but otherwise a major update isn’t planned for release anytime soon. At least, not until the new flagship launches.

Helen ends the post saying that getting better at updates, releasing them faster, is a major focus for the company moving forward, especially after the launch of the OnePlus 2.
