OnePlus is all set to launch its TV at an event in India. The company is keeping the interest alive by releasing revealing about its upcoming products. Now OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has himself tweeted the picture of TV’s remote control.
Going by the picture it is but obvious that OnePlus TV Remote will offer USB Type-C, typical Android navigation buttons and a button with OnePlus Logo. Also visible is a touchpad which might be aimed at helping people navigate the TV menu. Overall, the OnePlus TV remote looks sleek, premium and inspired by Apple TV remote.
The USB Type-C port seems to be a nice touch since you don’t have to deal with the headache of replaceable batteries. That apart we are already aware that OnePlus TV will come equipped with 55-inch 4K QLED display and features like Google Play, in-built Chromecast, and Dolby Vision. As of now, we are not sure about the level of customization on Android TV OS on OnePlus TV. Pete Lau has also told CNET that OnePlus TV will offer a display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The OnePlus TV is expected to be powered by MediaTek MT5670 processor and a quad-core chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the graphics front, the OnePlus TV will be fitted with Mali-G51 MP3 GPU. he company is also rumored to launch the OnePlus 7T in India weeks before releasing it in other markets. Needless to say, India is an important market for OnePlus.
Apart from India, the company also talks about expanding OnePlus TV to other markets. OnePlus claims to be working towards launching OnePlus TV in North America, Europe, and China. As of now, they are securing local and regional content partnerships.
