Despite the fact that the OnePlus One has only been available through an invite system so far, and one that hasn’t gone over so well since its debut, and a pre-order system isn’t set to launch until late October, a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) on reddit from a pair of OnePlus staffers has already set sights on what’s next in 2015.

According to the AMA, which was manned by David and Carl of OnePlus, what’s next for OnePlus could be coming in about a year’s time, or just under that. They said that the plan is to get the next OnePlus smartphone in 2015, and that it “should” launch in the second or third quarter of next year. Of course, nothing is confirmed at this point, and the inclusion of “should” is a smart move this far out. It remains to be seen if the new device will follow the same invite-only system that accompanied the original One to market.

As far as other details go, the pair also revealed that a smaller One could be in the works, and that OnePlus has been listening to those out there in the wild who have complained about the large size of the original One:

We’ve seen a lot of people asking for a smaller device, and want to let everyone know that we hear you. We’re thinking about it.

The staffers also talk about other categories, other than smartphones, including smartwatches and tablets, in which OnePlus has considered launching devices. They add that OnePlus is currently testing several different gadgets, so what could come down the pipe is anyone’s guess (and biggest surprise) at this point.
