It hasn’t even been half a year since OnePlus launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3, but apparently there’s something new coming.
OnePlus didn’t do the teasing this time around, though. Taking to Twitter, Qualcomm itself decided to spill (some of) the beans, indicating that “something new” is on the way from OnePlus, and that it will feature the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 821.
Something new from @OnePlus is on the way…and it’s powered by our #Snapdragon 821 processor. Stay tuned. pic.twitter.com/3jOyZFRQ5t

Unfortunately there aren’t any other details to go on here, save for some rumors that OnePlus is indeed working on a slightly tweaked version of the OnePlus 3, codenamed the OnePlus 3T, which could very well boast the Snapdragon 821 inside. That would make it Daydream-ready, Google’s virtual reality (VR) platform, so a bit future-proofing might be in the cards here.
Still, for owners of the OnePlus 3, getting a slightly souped-up version of this year’s flagship so soon might rub them the wrong way.
