OnePlus today released the third Nougat beta for the OnePlus 3. The team behind the OS has taken feedback submitted to them with the release of OxygenOS Open Beta 9 and has incorporated those changes in the latest OxygenOS Open Beta 10.
The changelog of OxygenOS points to the team optimising the performance of the OS for lower battery consumption and improved Wi-Fi and fingerprint scanner performance. The update also adds Data Saver mode to the OS which was missing from previous beta builds.
The full changelog of the update is as follows:
- Added Data Saver
- Fixed Lock Screen clock bug in Portrait Mode
- Fixed issue of reverting to Default Theme after reboot
- Optimized fingerprint unlocking speed
- Optimized the quality of Expanded Screenshot
- Optimized WiFi performance
- Optimized system performance and battery consumption
If you are already running a previous build of OxygenOS Open beta on your OnePlus 3, you will get the latest beta as a software update. If not, you will have to manually sideload the build on the handset using ADB.
OnePlus has promised that it would roll out the Nougat update for the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T by the end of this year. With only three days left for the year to end, the company is running out of time here. Don’t be surprised if OnePlus does not manage to stick to its word though, since it won’t be the first time the company has missed its own self-imposed deadline. With the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2, the company made numerous promises about rolling out major software updates by a certain date but missed all of them by more than a weeks.
