Own a OnePlus One? Well, the Cyanogen OS 13 update based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for your handset is now live. Initially, the rollout is being done randomly, with a wider rollout planned by the end of the week.

Among other things, Marshmallow for the OnePlus One also brings goodies like Doze, App Standby, and an App Permissions manager.

Steve Kondik a.k.a Cyanogen himself also confirmed in a post over at OnePlus forums that the OnePlus will be getting the Android N update whenever it launches later this year. Considering that the handset launched with KitKat out of the box and has already received 2 major OS updates, including Marshmallow, it is quite commendable to see the Cyanogen team committing to updating the One to Android N as well.

The OnePlus One might have been a troubled child of the OnePlus and Cyanogen partnership, and despite both companies severing ties with each other, it is good to see that they have not ditched owners of the handset.

Ironically, the OnePlus 2’s final Marshmallow OTA update still has not been rolled out, with only a near-final beta build available for the community. So, the ‘2016 flagship killer’ seems to have been killed by the original ‘flagship killer’ in being updated to Marshmallow.
