After confirming some key specs of the OnePlus 6, the company has now teased another new feature of the handset. In a tweet sent out today accompanying a short video, OnePlus teases that you would be able to use the Alert Slider to adjust the focus of the camera.
The video does not give a demo of how the feature will work except for teasing it. Nonetheless, this is still a very unique and interesting way to use the Alert Slider from OnePlus. On previous OnePlus phones, the Alert Slider is used to change the system sound between mute, priority, and normal.

Given the Alert Slider on previous OnePlus smartphones did not have a smooth sliding transition, I am not sure how using the same slider on the OnePlus 6 for changing camera focus will be a good idea. It is possible that OnePlus tweaks the slider to make the sliding mechanism smoother thereby making it appropriate to change the camera focus. Since the OnePlus 6 will come with a dual-camera setup, it is also possible that OnePlus is referring to switching between the two lenses with the Alert Slider.
Other confirmed specs of the OnePlus 6 include a Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The handset will also come with a 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch. While this move will likely anger many notch haters, the company will allow users to turn it off as well.
OnePlus will likely unveil the OnePlus 6 by the end of this month or early next month.
