The OnePlus 5T is official now, and it seems like the device is free from “jelly scrolling”. For those unaware, jelly scrolling is a bug that affected the OnePlus 5 when it was first launched. This pertains to a “jelly” like effect while scrolling. While the issue can be ignored easily, there’s no doubt that it was a concern for the users and the company.
The root cause of this bug was the display orientation which was set to 180 degrees, as spotted by a developer at XDA. OnePlus has freshly published the kernel code of the OnePlus 5T and the developers have confirmed that the display orientation flag doesn’t exist, which basically means that the jelly scrolling bug should be absent on the new flagship. This should be a sigh of relief for those who are contemplating the purchase of the OnePlus 5T, which goes official on November 21.
The company announced the handset yesterday with a bunch of new features. The display size has been bumped to 6.01-inches (2160 x 1080), while the aspect ratio has been changed to 18:9. The dual-camera setup on the back has been upgraded with the ability to take better low-light photos. The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the rear panel, with the front bezels significantly cut down. The handset shares the rest of the hardware with the OnePlus 5.
