OnePlus today announced that it will be unveiling the OnePlus 5, its next flagship smartphone on June 20th at 12PM Eastern time. The company has revealed a few details of the phone previously, though key features of the device still remain under wraps.
It is likely that the OnePlus 5 will go on sale a couple of weeks after its unveiling on June 20th in most markets of the world. Like before, OnePlus will be revealing the handset online, though unlike the OnePlus 3 unveiling, the company will not be holding a VR launch event for it.
OnePlus has been constantly teasing the OnePlus 5 on its social media accounts to create hype around it. The company has already revealed that the 5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset, with the handset’s software being optimised for quick app loading times. The company is also focusing on the display latency of the 5’s display to ensure optimum smoothness. It is also teaming up with DxOMark to optimise the camera experience offered by the handset.
