Last week, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 3T which went on sale in most countries earlier today. OnePlus has been dominating the mid-range smartphone market in India and China, but despite that, the company did not formally announce a launch date for its newest handset in both countries.
Since then, multiple Indian fans of OnePlus have asked the company on whether they plan on launching the OnePlus 3T in India or not. Considering how well the OnePlus 3 is selling in India, many assumed that the company will continue to sell the handset in the country and not launch the OnePlus 3T at all.
Breaking its silence, OnePlus India’s GM Vikas has finally confirmed that the company does indeed plan on launching the OnePlus 3T in India. He did not provide the exact date or timeframe though, except for a vague statement that it will be launching the handset “shortly.” The final launch date of the handset will be announced after a ‘Truth or Date’ round competition where fans can ask him to answer any question or do any adventurous task.
The OnePlus 3T is likely to cost around Rs 3000-4000 more than the OnePlus 3 in India which would push it above the Rs 30,000 mark. The OnePlus 3T is similar to the OnePlus 3, except that it comes with a slightly faster Snapdragon 821 chipset, a new Gunmetal Gray color, and a 16MP selfie camera.
