OnePlus seems to have gone back on its promise of not including advertisements in the operating system. OnePlus 3 users in China have highlighted the implementation of a ‘Live services’ section in the Dial interface of the Hydrogen OS — which is China specific. This has rubbed the users the wrong way and they have taken to the internet to voice their concerns.

Live services is a one-stop portal for prepaid ticket bookings, express taxi services, gourmet and restaurant etc. Not are the rows this service unable to minimise, but the advertising is not particularly useful nor effective. To boot, according to some users the services offered are not priced competitively.

This is not the first time the OnePlus has irked users with the OnePlus 3 with initial complains revolving around limiting the number of background applications to increase battery life despite having an impressive 6GB of RAM, and issues with the display calibration.

What is evident so far is that the Hydrogen OS needs refinements and this could be achieved through an update.
