Considering the popularity of the LG G2 and that it runs on Snapdragon S800 processor, it was just a matter of time before official CyanogenMod support was added to the device.

Now, just a few weeks after the handset was made available in the United States and other major markets, the CyanogenMod team has added support for the device. Currently, the CM team has only churned out the nightly builds for the Verizon and International variant of the G2.

AT&T and Sprint owners will have to wait a bit longer, with the T-Mobile variant being worked on right now. The delay is mainly because of the slight hardware difference, including an additional microphone in certain carrier variants, of the the LG G2.

Keep in mind that since this is the first nightly build for the LG G2, there are bound to be certain issues. Also, G2 owners will be losing most of the additions LG has made to the UI including QSlide and Slide Aside. While KnockOn works, it can only be used to turn the screen of the device on and not off. However, by flashing CM10.2, G2 owners can enjoy the latest version of Jelly Bean – Android 4.3 – with some nice usability features and enhancements on their handset right away.
