Just a couple of days after Google officially released the Android 9.0 Pie update and pushed its source code to AOSP, Nokia seems to have started rolling out the update for its mid-range handset, the Nokia 7 Plus.

While Nokia has not confirmed the rollout of the Pie update, a screenshot has surfaced online which indicates the Android 9.0 Pie update for the Nokia 7 Plus has started rolling out in India.

The 1.1GB+ update brings about all the Pie goodness to this mid-range handset from Nokia which includes Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery, redesigned Quick Settings, optional new navigation gestures, Slices, and more. The Digital Wellbeing features are not a part of this update as they are still being beta tested by Google.

The Nokia 7 Plus is an Android One handset so it will be receiving a stock build of Android Pie. Nokia is known for speedy and quick OS updates so it is possible that the company might have started the rollout of the update already. After all, the Nokia 7 Plus was also a part of the Android P beta program and had received a beta build of Android P alongside Google’s own Pixel 2 and Pixel.

Apart from the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia has a bunch of other Android One devices including the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and more. The company should roll out the Android 9.0 Pie update to its entire lineup of Android One handsets within the next month or so.

Update: As it turns out, Nokia is not rolling out the final Android 9.0 Pie update for the Nokia 7 Plus. Instead, the company has started rolling out the fourth developer beta of the OS which even brings navigation gestures to the handset.
