Alongside the Nokia 1 and Nokia 6 (2018), the HMD Global-owned Nokia also unveiled the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco.

Nokia 7 Plus

The Nokia 7 is Nokia’s premium mid-range handset. It features a 6-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio that is capable of reaching brightness levels of up to 500 nits. The metal unibody handset features a ceramic-like paint job that helps make it easier to grip. There’s also a metallic gold accent running through the device which is smartly used by Nokia to hide the antenna lines.

Internally, the Nokia 7 Plus features a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage. This is paired with a 12MP f/1.75 shooter at the rear and a 13MP f/2.6 telephoto sensor. There is also a 16MP shooter at the front. This is powered by a 3800mAh battery which should translate into the Nokia 7 Plus offering some incredible battery life. The €399 handset will make its debut in April.

Like other Nokia phones, the Nokia 7 Plus runs on Android Oreo and is a part of Google’s Android One program.

Nokia 8 Sirocco

The Nokia 8 Sirocco edition is a slight refresh of the last year’s Nokia 8 with some improvements to design and camera thrown in. The handset now features a 5.5-inch curved pOLED display that is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. It now also has smaller bezels, rounded corners, and curved edges that make it a looker. The phone makes use of Gorilla Glass panels on the front and rear, with a metallic frame sandwiched in between. The glass construction means the Nokia 8 Sirocco has wireless charging support, and its also IP67 certified. The smaller bezels at the front mean the capacitive keys have been given the boot and the fingerprint scanner now resides at the rear.

As for the camera, it has a setup similar to that of the Nokia 7 Plus. The primary 12MP shooter features an f/1.75 aperture, while the secondary 13MP telephoto sensor has an f/2.6 aperture. At the front, you get a 5MP selfie shooter. Other specs include Wi-Fi ac, no headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, and a 3260mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. Perhaps the most disappointing part of the Nokia 8 Sirocco is that it is still powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. This is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The €749 handset will be making its way to selected markets from April running Android 8.0 Oreo.
