Less than 24 hours after Google put the Nexus Player up for pre-order in the United States via the Play Store, it has put up an “out of inventory” tag for it.

The reason? The Nexus Player is yet to receive Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) approval before it can go on sale in the United States. Google explicitly lists this information on the Nexus Player’s product page as well.

This device has not been approved by the Federal Communications Commission. It is not for sale until approval of the FCC has been obtained.

At the moment, it is not yet known when the Nexus Player will get FCC’s approval and go on sale in the United States. It can either be days, weeks or even a month before the device can be shipped in the United States.
