We’ve gotten our mitts on a brand new Nexus 7 from Google and Asus, and we’ve taken the liberty to unbox it for you on video. Have a look inside at our first glance of Google’s flagship ultra portable tablet.

When unboxing the device, the first thing you’ll notice is that the new Nexus 7 was put on a diet by Google. It’s now lighter, thinner, slimmer, and slightly taller than its predecessor. Although the iPad mini still bests the device in overall thinness, the iPad’s girth is significantly more than the Nexus, making the Nexus perfect for one-handed usage.
From an outside visual perspective, it’s similar to the previous Nexus, although one of the most obvious changes is the presence of cameras on both the front and rear of the device, and a Retina-esque display. You’ll find a rear surface that’ll feel very familiar to owners of the outgoing Nexus, sans the indented textures present on its predecessors.
Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the look and feel of the device thus far. Of course, we’ll be putting it through its paces and reporting back to you as time goes on. Stay tuned, and if there’s anything you specifically want me to cover, leave a comment!
