Thanks to some shoddy video editing by a Googler, we managed to get a look at the back of what is apparently the Nexus 5 in the KitKat statue unveiling. Today, thanks to some FCC documents fillings, we have some very clear images of the new Nexus made by LG.

The design of the new Nexus looks to be an evolution of the Nexus 4, with a slimmer waist line and very little bezel space. The camera hole at the back of the handset is also visible, and it looks pretty big, which gives strength to the rumors of Google working on improving the cameras on its Nexus devices. The images were revealed after LG submitted a “class 2 permissive change” request for some hardware changes to FCC, which generally occurs when a device is close to its release.

Google and LG are expected to unveil the new Nexus, along with Android 4.4 KitKat sometime next month.
