The Nexus 5 is currently available for purchase only from the Play Store, with retail units going up for sale across major retailers sometime soon. The press release from Google also mentioned that the handset would be coming to T-Mobile and Sprint in the United States.
Now, Sprint has gone ahead and announced that it would start selling the Nexus 5 from November 8th for $ 149 on-contract, after a $49 mail-in rebate. The company will start taking pre-orders for the handset from tomorrow (November 1st) itself.
The Nexus 5 will also be fully compatible with Sprint’s tri-band 4G LTE network, which should help in providing better data speeds. Keep in mind that since this is the CDMA variant of the Nexus 5, it won’t receive updates as soon as the GSM variant does.
For example, Sprint started rolling out the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy Nexus just today, when Google had rolled out the update more than two months ago.
