Tired of all the Nexus 5 pictures and specs being leaked? Well, thankfully someone decided to give us a break from all the leaks by running the Nexus 5 through the BaseMark X benchmarks.

BaseMark X is a cross-platform benchmarking tool that ranks a device based on its gaming skills. As evident from the benchmark results, the Nexus 5 performs admirably well and ranks just below the iPhone 5s, which is at the top.

Thanks to under-the-hood optimisations from Google in Android 4.4 KitKat, the Nexus 5 performs better than the LG G2 even though it packs in the same hardware. Interestingly, BaseMark X is  identifying the Nexus 5 as running Key Lime Pie, which suggests that the handset in question was running a slightly older build of Android 4.4.

It is widely expected that Google will unveil the new Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat tomorrow.
