The Nexus 7 may still be fresh to you and me, but Google is thinking about next year. Just yesterday I reported that LG was being considered as a potential manufacturer of the 2014 Nexus 7. Well, according to DigiTimes, they’re not alone. The Taiwanese supply chain website that most tech journalists have a love hate relationship with says that Lenovo and Samsung are also in discussions with The Big G about next year’s tiny tablet.

Now LG and Samsung I understand. They’ve both made Nexus products for Google and they’re both vertically integrated, but Lenovo? That’s a head scratcher. Lenovo has a powerful brand, I’m not denying that, but outside of China they’re not exactly seen as “the best”. That being said, ASUS was pretty much a nobody until Google tapped their shoulder and told them to make the 2012 Nexus 7, so maybe that Midas touch will be put to good use again.

Either way, 2014 is still quite far away.
