The Galaxy S4 was the first device to get a leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM, followed by the Nexus 4. Today, an even newer build of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has leaked online for the Galaxy S4 Google Play edition.
The new Jelly Bean build carries a build date of July 11th, with JMR66V as its build number. A user-compiled change-log of what’s different in this leak compared to the previous one is below -:
-
Battery improvement. Drain issue reported to be improved.
-
First initial charge is fast (unlike previous leak).
-
Almost all TouchWiz framework removed.
-
IMDB App reportedly working
-
Dash Clock widget works
-
Higher FPS
-
No SELinux
-
Wallet works without mods (Root must be disabled in SuperSU)
-
Wireless charging works when powered off
Sadly, there are a few bugs in the ROM as well including disabling SuperSu for Google Wallet to work. Other issues include SIM unlock issues, and apps like BestBuy, GTA IV, Titanium Backup, CNN and others not working properly.
The leaked ROM can also be flashed on the Qualcomm variant of the Galaxy S4 as well, provided you have root access. You can get the installation instructions and the download link from here. You can read what’s new in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean here.
