The yet to be announced Nexus 5 has already leaked in quite a few blurrycam images, leaked screenshots and a 7-minute hands-on video. However, none of the leaks have shown off the purported new UI of Android 4.4 KitKat in all its glory.

Now, the folks over at TuttoAndroid have managed to get their hands on some images of the Nexus 5 running a much-newer build of Android 4.4 KitKat and showing of some of its new UI changes.

The lock screen and home screen images show off the new transparent navigation and status bar, along with some of the re-designed icons. There is also a dedicated shortcut to the Camera app, which can also be accessed by swiping to the right like in Android 4.2.

As yesterday’s leak suggested, the Widgets tab has been given the boot in KitKat. The number of home screens has also increased, and will automatically increase depending on your usage. The left-most home screen is now also dedicated to a Google Now search bar and widget.

Lastly, TuttoAndroid folks also report that the Nexus 5/Android 4.4 KitKat will have an always-on ‘Ok, Google’ listening feature, as seen on the Moto X. It is unknown whether this feature will work even when the phone is sleeping, or only when the device is awake.

With new Nexus and KitKat leaks increasing with every passing day, the press invitations from Google should not be far away.
