Up until now, we have heard quite a bit about the LG G5. The handset is expected to sport a metal build and an all-new design that will be modular to allow for the battery to be removable.
Now, thanks to Shai Mizrachi and Android Authority, we get to have our first look at a diagram of the LG G5’s design. The diagram confirms that the G5 will sport a completely new design, and will be thinner and taller than the G4, but narrower than it. The handset will be 149.4mm tall, 73.9mm wide and 8.2mm thin. It will also feature a curved back to improve its ergonomics.
Interestingly, the diagram reveals that while LG will continue to place the power button at the back of the handset, it has moved the volume buttons to the right edge of the device. The power button also features an integrated fingerprint scanner.
Previous leaks surrounding the G5 match up perfectly with this leak. The design of the handset as depicted in the diagram is also similar to the previous leak from CNet Korea. The rumored specs of the G5 include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, a 16MP camera setup at the rear, and a 2900mAh removable battery. The handset is also rumored to feature a ‘Magic Slot’ that will allow accessories like an external keyboard to be easily attached to it.
LG will be unveiling the G5 on February 21 at MWC next month.
