Most advanced CyanogenMod users must already installed CM13 nightlies on their device, but for those of you who prefer stability and are still on Lollipop-based CM12.1, here is some good news: the CM team has started rolling out a new snapshot build of the ROM.

Based on Android 5.1, the latest snapshot builds of CyanogenMod 12.1 bring with them security patches and some relatively minor new features.

Being a snapshot build, you can be rest assured that they are completely stable for day-to-day usage. As for now, the CM12.1 snapshot builds are only available for the a handful of Motorola devices, though expect builds for other devices to rollout over the next few hours/days.

If you own a relatively popular device, it is likely that CM13 nightly builds for your device is already stable enough for regular use. This is mostly true for developer friendly devices like Google’s Nexus lineup, the OnePlus One, smartphones from Oppo and more. While CyanogenMod 13 does not bring any new feature to the table, Marshmallow in itself makes it worth the risk.
