For a lot of people out there, the release of Motorola’s Nexus device is a sure thing. A done deal. Inevitable, even. With reports that the company has been working on something codenamed “Shamu” for months now, a new report has surfaced that claims to substantiate previous rumors, while also offering up a new mock-up image.

The exclusive image was originally published by 9to5Google, and it very clearly showcases a large Motorola device. One, in fact, that looks like an enlarged new Moto X, which the company only ver recently announced. Indeed, the original source does suggest that Motorola, and Google, opted to go with this design, essentially enlarging the new Moto X, and slightly altering the physical volume rockers on the side.

What’s more, many of the previous rumors regarding the still unofficial handset have been corroborated in the new report. Details, like a 5.9-inch display, with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Under the hood, the report confirms that the device will run a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, clocked at 2.6GHz. It will come with 3GB of RAM, be running Android L right out of the box, and boast a battery measured in at 3200mAh. It will also, reportedly, feature 32GB of built-in storage.

As for the camera on the back, earlier reports had suggested it would be a 12-megapixel offering, but 9to5Google claims it will actually be a 13MP shooter. The front-side camera is said to be a 2MP shooter — exactly like the one you’d find in the new Moto X.

The original report also states that despite the fact that Motorola’s own Moto-branded offerings are basically stock endeavors, with a few selected apps thrown in for good measure on Motorola’s behalf, that will not be the case with the Nexus 6/X. This will be a purely vanilla effort, with no proprietary apps from Motorola on board right out of the box.

As far as a release date goes, there’s not much going for that bit of information. The report does claim that Google is aiming to announce the handset in October at some point, with a launch scheduled (in pencil) for November. If that does happen, as rumors have indeed claimed, at least the wait isn’t too long.
