At the beginning of this year, Motorola’s newest Moto 360 smartwatch, the Moto 360 Sport, found its way out into the real world with a price tag of $299.
For anyone out there looking for a fitness-oriented smartwatch, the Moto 360 Sport offers plenty of noteworthy features, but the $299 price tag might have been too high of a gate to climb. A few months after the watch’s debut, though, Motorola, and several other retailers, are offering a pretty steep discount on the wearable.
Motorola, B&H, Best Buy, and Amazon are all offering a $100 limited-time only discount on the Moto 360. That means you can pick one up today for $199. One caveat, though: It’s only the “White” and “Flame” color options that are available with the discount. The “Black” unit is still priced at $299, at least at the time of publication. While the other retailers aren’t coming forward on when the promotion ends, Motorola says it will stop offering the $100 discount at 11:59 AM ET on Monday, May 2.
And if you pick up a Moto 360 Sport from B&H, they’ll throw in an additional $50 gift card and a free microfibre cleaning cloth.
The Moto 360 Sport’s specifications line up with the traditional Moto 360 in a lot of ways, but it does offer a few key differences. That includes “AnyLight,” a different type of display from Motorola that features a front-lit reflective mode that should make it easier to use in sunlight. There’s now an ambient sensor in the “flat tire” as well, which will automatically shift the brightness of the display depending on your surroundings.
At $199, do you think you’ll pick up a Moto 360 Sport?
