Another day, another rumor. This time it’s about Motorola’s first “real” phone. I say “real” because Motorola had several devices in development when Google snatched them up back in May 2012. We’re nearing in on the one year anniversary of the aquisition, which means we’re getting closer and closer to seeing the first “real” Motorola smartphone that has the Google touch.
But enough about that, let’s get to the story.
First, the source. It’s Phone Arena. These are the same guys who said the next Nexus phone will have some sort of Nikon branding. I want to say I trust Phone Arena, and for the most part I do, but when it comes to important rumors like this one … I’m not so sure.
Now as for the rumor itself, they say the Motorola “X Phone” will be launched in November of this year. It’ll have a 4.8 inch FullHD (1920 x 1080 pixel) screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and a 4,000 mAh battery inside. They add that the screen will be coated with sapphire glass, the corners of the device will be rubberized, and the back of the phone will have carbon fiber. Oh and the whole thing is supposed to be water proof as well.
Is any of this credible? Sure it is, none of what you read above is impossible to do, but I’m not going to feel comfortable saying this rumor is legitimate until I see it being echoed by a major publication.
