Moto X touchless controls

The Touchless Control function from the Moto X and the trio of DROID handsets was very versatile in its early implementation, thanks to the custom designed Motorola X8 chip. The company has now updated this popular app with another new feature which will read out the notifications for the user. This can be activated with a “What’s Up” command.

The phone can reportedly read back to you in English, Italian or Spanish, albeit in a robotic voice, which is expected from a talkback service. However, it’s quite a nifty feature to have especially if you’re driving and do not want to be distracted by your phone. Thanks to Motorola’s efforts to speed up the update roll out process, most of its apps are available through the Play Store, which will eliminate the need for users to rely on system updates for the addition of minor features like these.

If you own a compatible device, head over to the link below and download the update manually.
