Motorola has started rolling out the Lollipop OTA update to owners of the 1st generation dual-SIM variant of the Moto G in India, who signed up for the soak test.

Moto devices already run a near stock version of Android, and Lollipop on the first generation Moto G is no different. It packs all the goodies introduced by Google in the latest version of Android, including Material Design, Smart Lock, a new lockscreen and more.

Motorola rolled out the Lollipop update for the 2nd gen. Moto G and Moto X in the United States on the same day Google released Lollipop to the public. However, the company is yet to roll out the update on a wider scale to other regions of the world.

In fact, the dual-SIM variant of the 2nd gen. Moto G is also yet to be updated to Lollipop in India, so it is a bit weird to see Motorola starting the soak test for its predecessor first. It is also possible that the company will roll out the update for both devices at the same time, since they share the same internal hardware.

Until and unless the company finds some deal breaking bugs in its current Lollipop build, it is very likely that it will start a public roll out of the Lollipop update for the Moto G within the next few days.
