Not deterred by the impending switch of its ownership from Google to Lenovo, Motorola has scheduled a press event for Mobile World Congress on February 25th, with the invite simply saying “You Are Invited.” That’s one day after Samsung will unveil its next flagship at its Unpacked 5 event, but according to Pocket-Lint, Motorola won’t be making any major announcements.

The event is dubbed as a “business update,” which means we can expect to see the company talk about its $2.9 billion sale to Lenovo. Of course, we can also expect to see Dennis Woodside talk a bit about upcoming devices, like the Moto X‘s successor, though what the future will hold for that particular device (or any other hardware the company is working on) is uncertain at the moment. Lenovo has said that Motorola will continue to operate as it is doing now for the foreseeable future, and hopefully we’ll get more details at the event.

What do you guys think? Is this “business” event something you’re looking forward to, or do you think the lack of a new smartphone announcement makes Motorola’s upcoming MWC bash something to ignore?
