Motorola announced a few changes to its big Moto X sale that’ll kick off for the second time on Wednesday, December 4th at Noon EST. Instead of handling a crushing load of customers looking to configure and purchase a handset, the company is using a reservation system that’ll allow  customers to secure a handset and then configure it at a later date. This same system will be used again on Monday, December 9th.

Customers looking to buy a new Motorola handset will need to head to Motorola’s promotional site at motorola.com/holiday2daysale on one of the two promotional dates. Once sales begin, customers will be able to select a model and receive a promo code that can be redeemed within seven days. Motorola is hoping people will secure their handset and then design it using the Moto Maker tool at a later date.

Motorola also is increasing the number of Moto X phones that’ll be available to purchase and spreading the sale out over two days. Hopefully, all these factors combined will ease the load on Motorola’s servers and prevent the debacle that happened on Cyber Monday. Now that the sale will likely go smoother, do you plan on getting a new Moto X handset this time around?
