Earlier this month, Motorola announced that it is re-entering China with the Moto X, Moto G and the Moto X Pro. Today, the Lenovo-owned company revealed more details about the products that it will be bringing to the country.
China will be the first country in Asia where Motorola will be launching the LTE enabled 2nd gen. Moto G. The company will also be offering its Moto Maker customisation feature for the Moto X in the country in a few months. For now though, it will only be selling the Moto X (2014) with leather and wooden back options.
The Moto X and Moto X Pro will also be the first handset to launch in China that will be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The latter is a rebadged Nexus 6 that runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and comes with all the unique apps and services offered by Motorola, including Moto Voice and Assist.
Since Google’s suite of apps and services are blocked in China, Motorola will be shipping its devices with Lenovo’s own app store. The handsets from the company will, however, feature all of the company’s usual suite of apps like Moto Voice, Moto Display and more.
Motorola’s president and COO, Rick Osterloh, revealed during the launch that the company will be bringing its Moto 360 smartwatch and Moto Hint Bluetooth headset to China as well in a few months time.
All the new devices from Motorola are scheduled to go on sale right before the Chinese New Year in late-February.
