The month of September was an interesting one for the Motorola-branded Nexus smartphone, which is codenamed Shamu, as plenty of leaks started to trickle out. Now, another image has reportedly surfaced showcasing the rumored device out in the wild yet again.
As far as the leak cycle goes for any hot topic device, the Shamu has followed the unwritten plan accordingly. Rumors have been swirling around the device for quite some time, but things started to pick up on September 25, when a mock-up was released along with plenty of specifications. Then, soon after, an image surfaced allegedly caught showing the handset face-down next to an LG G3. Then, most recently, an image of the “About phone” area of the Shamu was released.
Now, an image that is supposedly focused on a Motorola-branded Nexus 6/Shamu being used on a bus has surfaced, which was originally published by Android Police. The Shamu is caught in a pretty big case, probably for situations just like this, and the finger details can’t really be gleaned. However, we can indeed see the front-facing speakers, as well as the Power and volume rockers centered there on the right side. On the top of the device’s display, we can also see what looks like updated icons, which should be included in the Android L release.
The image is at an angle, but it does seem to show a pretty large device out there in the wild. The case is obviously pretty big, too, but it will indeed be interesting to see how the Motorola Nexus 6 stacks up when it launches later this year.
Update: Another photo of the device has been published, showcasing another angled shot of the front of the unannounced handset:
