The VP of Product Management at Motorola, Punit Soni has yet again teased the arrival of the upcoming Moto E. The company is holding launch events simultaneously in the U.S., UK and India next week. Soni left a post on his Google+ page saying that he’s heading over to India and that there’s a “magical new product coming”.

The arrival of the Moto E is well known as the company has teased its release on several occasions. With the launch event scheduled for May 13, which is exactly a week from now, we might not have to wait too long.

Considering that the smartphone is expected to cost less than the Moto G, we don’t think it will be too generous on the specs sheet. However, there’s a considerable amount of interest for any device Motorola launches given the widespread success of the Moto G, which became its highest selling Android smartphone.

Some say that this could be a Moto G-like offering with features like Active Display and the always-on mic that were made famous by the Moto X, which would require the company’s custom X8 chip. However, given that cost is a concern, it’s unlikely that we would see such features.
