Now that Android 5.0 Lollipop is official, companies will begin outlining their plans for updating older hardware to the newest version of the Android platform. Motorola is one of the first to do just that.
While Motorola had to also announce the new Nexus 6, they also made sure to keep the spotlight on their update plans as well. As one can imagine, the newest Moto X and Moto G handsets will obviously be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but plenty of other high-end handsets will also get the newest software, too, at some point in the future:
Motorola makes note that their official update page will keep owners of the aforementioned handsets abreast of the plans to update those handsets, but that individual updates for specific devices may depend on carriers and partners. It would be reasonable to expect that any handsets purchased unlocked, and not under the umbrella of a carrier, will get the update faster.
Are you excited to upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop?
