Motorola announced the Moto Z2 Play, with unlocked and Verizon Wireless exclusive variants, earlier this month.
At the time, the company announced that the handset would have two options to choose from: The unlocked model would boast 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, while the Verizon exclusive would feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. Other than those two differences, the handsets would be similar in specs and features.
The waiting period for Verizon subscribers is practically over, as the phone is now available to buy from the Big Red carrier. It’s listed at $408 full retail, but you can pick it up on Verizon’s monthly installment plans for just $17 per month for 24 months. And while it’s technically available to buy right now, it won’t arrive on your doorstep until July 6 at the earliest.
If you prefer to walk into a store and pick one up, you’ll probably have to wait until July 6 to do just that.
For the price, you get a 5.5-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor, the aforementioned combination of RAM and built-in storage, a 12-megapixel camera on the back, and a 5MP front-facing camera on the other side. It also boasts Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, a 3000mAh battery, and Moto Mods support.
The Moto Z2 Play is a solid mid-range handset, and the price tag isn’t too high, which could make it a noteworthy handset for anyone that doesn’t want to spend a lot for their next daily driver. What do you think of the Moto Z2 Play?
