Everyone knows that Motorola is going to launch a phone later this year that’s going to run stock Android. What we don’t know is what it’s going to look like, how much it’s going to cost, and what’s going to make it special compared to devices from Samsung and HTC.

Thanks to @evleaks, the anonymous Twitter user who somehow gets to play with the latest toys before the general public, we now have at least a rough idea of what to expect. He (or she) tweeted two photos of what’s allegedly the X Phone from Motorola.

There are no specs, so don’t ask, but there is a codename: Ghost.

As you can tell, the Ghost you’re looking at is in a case purposefully designed to make the phone look as boring as humanly possible. That being said, the checkered pattern on the back cover is supposedly what the final phone will look like.

According to Phone Arena, the X Phone is going to be announced in July, but I have my doubts. Google has traditionally launched new smartphones during the fourth quarter. If they launch the X Phone in July, sure, it’ll get a lot of attention, but then two months later the iPhone 5S will come out and people might simply forget about it.

The site also says that the X Phone will be sold in three flavors. An unlocked model, likely for international audiences, and then two additional variants, one for AT&T, the other for Verizon Wireless. The two use different bands for their respective 4G LTE networks.

Should you be excited? I don’t really know what to tell you. Some people think an Android device that isn’t running stock Android is somehow an inferior piece of garbage, but the market doesn’t think that at all. Do I need to bring up Samsung’s market share numbers?
