Motorola’s Moto X, which technically isn’t even out yet, already has a sweet new family of accessories available. Starting with the least interesting one, it’s a $40 car dock. If you’ve seen one car dock, you’ve seen them all. Next, the desktop dock, which is made by Griffin and is called a “PowerDock”. It’s $40, it charges your phone, and if you want your screen pointing at you while you work instead of pointing towards the ceiling, this is for you.

Update: Motorola has officially announced Skip.

Now here’s where things get interesting: the $20 “Skip”. What is it? It’s a little clip you put on your shirt or trousers that’s NFC enabled. Instead of having to enter your unlock code, you tap your phone against the “Skip” and it skips the security process.

Three things: One, chances are you’re going to lose the Skip. I’m sorry, but it’s just true. Two, are you really going to spend $20 to save you 5 seconds when the phone has cool things like an active notification screen? Three, see point one. I can’t stress how incredibly likely it is that you’re going to lose this thing.

Still, points for trying!

Update: Photos of the docks for those interested!
