Waiting for the newest version of any piece of software can be hard, but when it sneaks up on you, it’s pretty great.

For owners of the newest Moto X who also happen to be under the Verizon banner, the wait for Android 5.0 Lollipop is over. Recently, Motorola officially published its own changelog for the handset, hinting that the update was in testing for Verizon, and would be released at a later date. However, almost immediately after that owners of the handset began reporting that Android 5.0 was appearing on their handsets, ready to download.

Now, Verizon has confirmed the rollout of the update for its subscribers, noting that, as with any over the air (OTA) update it will be released in stages, so it could take some time before all handsets out in the wild are updated. With the newest software, it brings the version number up to 22.21.11, and brings with it the Material Design aesthetic, new notifications, improved Smart Lock and Moto Display, plus so much more.

The update is 678.6MB in size.
