Motorola today posted the release notes of Android 5.1 Lollipop on its website for the 2014 Moto X.

The release notes highlight all the changes that Google made in Android 5.1, but also include some of the enhancements that Motorola has made, including a reduction in noise in images shot in low-light and an improved viewfinder response for the front-facing camera.

The release note indicates that the Moto X (2014) will be getting Device Protection feature with the Android 5.1 update. Google introduced Device Protection in Android 5.1, but only on its newer Nexus devices –the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. So, it will be commendable if Motorola does indeed bring Device Protection to the Moto X, which launched last year.

It is unclear if Motorola has started the soak test rollout of the update or not, but a download link of the OTA update has made its way to XDA forums, which can be easily sideloaded on a Pure Edition Moto X (2014).
