Motorola today announced the successor to the Moto E3, the Moto E4 and the Moto E4 Plus. The budget handsets sport modest internals, with the E4 Plus focusing on delivering an all-day battery life.

    Both handsets feature a metal design with a water-repellent nano-coating. The Moto E4 features a 5-inch 720p HD display and the Moto E4 Plus comes with 5.5-inch HD display, with both displays being protected by a 2.5D curved glass.

    Internally, the Moto E4 and E4 Plus are powered by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 427 chipset clocked at 1.27GHz, sports 2GB RAM, 16/32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. They also feature a microUSB port, Bluetooth 4.1, front-facing speaker, dual mics, GPS, and a fingerprint sensor albeit in selected models.

    The Moto E4 comes with an 8MP f/2.2 shooter at its rear with 1.12um large pixels, HDR, and a 71-degree wide-angle lens. As for the Moto E4 Plus, it comes with a 13MP f/2.0 shooter with an even wider 78-degree lens. At the front, both phones sport a 5MP f/2.2 shooter with 1.4um pixels and 74-degree wide lens.

    The Moto E4 comes with a 2800mAh battery with a 10W rapid charger, while the Moto E4 Plus comes with an even bigger 5000mAh battery.

    On the software front, both phones run on Android 7.1 Nougat, with Moto’s usual array of features like Moto Display also available. Motorola will be making the E4 and E4 Plus available in Gold and Black colors starting from this month. The Moto E4 is priced at $129.99, while the Moto E4 Plus starts from $179.99. The company also plans on offering the Moto E4 as an Amazon Prime Exclusive at a lower price which it will reveal at a later date.
