In just three days from now, Motorola will be unveiling its new budget-oriented smartphone — the Moto E — that would be placed below the Moto G and is targeted at emerging markets. While various leaks have confirmed the name of the phone, today’s leak gives us the first look at the phone as well as reveal its full specifications.
The Moto E will carry the same design language as the G and X, but with a much smaller display and more bezels.
The leaked specs, courtesy of an online retailer in Brazil, indicate that the Moto E will sport a 4.3-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 1980mAh battery and will be powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip running at 1.2GHz. Other notable features include a 5MP rear camera and dual SIM functionality
Surprisingly, the handset will be running on a near stock build of Android 4.4 KitKat, just like the Moto G and X. Most of the budget-oriented Android phones run an year old version of Android, so its nice to see that the Moto E will be running on KitKat right out of the box.
The listing also reveals that the E is guaranteed to receive the next major update of Android — which if true, is going to be another first for a low-end Android device. The handset would be available in multiple colors including Black, Turquoise and Lemon and will come with interchangeable backs just like the Moto G.
Looking at the above specs and the rumored price point of the device, it looks like Motorola already has another winner on their hands.
