Way back in March, the CEO of Lenovo showed off a series of images that many believed to be the next iteration of the Moto 360.
Now, almost two months later, the Moto 360 (2nd Gen.) has more than likely taken a stop at the Bluetooth SIG, as it begins to pick up the certificates it needs before it can launch to consumers at some point in the (near) future. With the passthrough, the new Moto 360 is picking up all that it needs to make sure it complies with Bluetooth regulations and other matters.
According to Droid-Life, the device in question is manufactured by Motorola and boasts a model number of BTMW03. Unfortunately, the SIG filing doesn’t actually include any real details about the device, other than it’s running Bluetooth 4.1, but the model number is the big giveaway. The original Moto 360’s model number was BTMW01, so this new device follows in sequence just as it should.
As for when the new Moto 360 will get unveiled, that’s still anyone’s guess at this point. However, hopefully Motorola has plans to show it off soon.
