Motorola has been working with Verizon for quite some time when it comes to Android-based devices, and it looks like that trend is not ending anytime soon.
According to a report published recently by Droid-Life, and citing a new presence on a Reddit forum, a trio of new model numbers for Motorola devices has been surfaced: XT1578, XT1585 and XT192A. And, according to the unnamed source, these devices are headed to Verizon. Or, at the very least, were tested at some point on Verizon’s network.
The individual behind the leaks is an unknown, even on Reddit, and recently created the account AndroidLeaks, apparently just to post up the information regarding the model numbers. While there are some specifications listed along with the rumored devices, the one takeaway is that all of them will reportedly boast Quad HD displays. On top of that, they’ll apparently be running Android 5.1 (or newer software) whenever they do finally become official.
As Droid-Life points out, the model numbers aren’t really in line with any of Verizon’s previous Motorola-branded handsets, save for a close association to the Moto E LTE, which Verizon recently launched. Of course, the Moto E is not a device that features a QHD display, and it would stand to reason that any future version will not, either. At least, not anytime soon.
It’s far from official, but it might be worth to keep an eye on the model numbers anyway.
